Prince is to make an unlikely cameo in Zooey Deschanel’s TV comedy “New Girl.”

Reports suggest the “Purple Rain” singer is a fan of the show and he actually contacted producers and asked for a part, even pitching a story idea surrounding a pajama dance party, like the one he hosted at his Paisley Park home in Minnesota earlier this year.

The episode featuring Prince will air in America after the Super Bowl in February.

It appears more details will be released today; on Thursday New Girl regular Hannah Simone tweeted, “Big Deal Alert! Exciting news coming tomorrow…”

The message was retweeted by Prince.
