A 12-year-old decided to go for a joyride in the family car, and he startled fellow drivers who saw him on Interstate 81. The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office got calls last Thursday about a boy in a car that was going north in the southbound lanes of the interstate. He took off from the Weyer’s Cave area and was finally stopped in Rockingham County. There were no injuries. The Staunton News Leader says his mother is complaining this was the fourth time her son took off behind the wheel.
