The Charlottesville School Board will send nearly $67,000 back to City Hall. After the General Assembly finally adopted a new two-year state budget, the Charlottesville school division learned it received a better deal than it expected from Richmond. There had been uncertainty for the city schools, as well as other systems across the Commonwealth, thanks to a prolonged stalemate between the House of Delegates and State Senate. That impasse was triggered by a dispute over Medicaid funding that lasted until late June.
