GOP Leader Wants McAuliffe To Follow Through On McDonnell Appointments

House of Delegate Majority Leader Kirk Cox says he’s disappointed the McAuliffe administration is reconsidering several state board and commission appointments. Cox sent a letter urging McAuliffe to appoint about 60 people already selected by former governor Bob McDonnell before he left office. The McAuliffe adminstration says  a clerical error by the McDonnell administration kept the appointments from making it to the General Assemply and they’re now considered vacant. McAuliffe has encouraged those appointees to reapply, but he has not guaranteed that they will be reappointed. In his letter, Cox said the appointees were not communicated to the General Assembly because a pregnant McDonnell staffer went into labor early.
