Governor McAuliffe has proposed trimming Virginia’s budget by $140 million. McAuliffe (pictured) says a revised forecast show the Commonwealth is getting less money than expected from some sources. The biggest problem is individual income tax revenue, which was $120 million lower than during the same month in 2013. McAuliffe is proposing higher-than-projected revenues from the Virginia Lottery and other sources to help cover the drop in revenue. Both the House of Delegates and the State Senate will unveil their budget plans on Sunday.
