Dad Wants $50K To Stay Home W/Kids
Dad Wants $50K To Stay Home W/Kids

I have to say that I am torn over this story and how I feel about it. On one hand it’s very noble that this man wants to stay home with his kids for 1 year. A lot of people couldn’t/don’t want to do it. However, the fact that he’s asking us to fund it has me questioning if he’s really trying. Most people have to “fund” staying at home themselves.

Here is the excerpt from Adam Dolgin’s blog, Fodder4Fathers:

I’d like to leave the corporate world behind for a year to take on the role of stay-at-home parent with my kids and prove once and for all that anything moms can do DADS can do equally-one year to chronicle my life doing the hardest, most rewarding job in the world and doing it well. But I’m just not in a position to do this financially, so I could really use your support.

When my kids were younger I stayed home, but I also did odd jobs like teaching preschool music and doing daycare, directing music at my church, etc to make extra money so that I could stay home. Not only did these jobs allow me to be at home more, they also allowed my kids to have a music/preschool experience because they went with me everyday.

I’ve had very mixed reactions from listeners already this morning. One listener said that it’s nice when we help each other and we should help him b/c he’s trying to do a good thing. Others said that he needs to figure it out on his own just like everyone else. What do you think?

REVIEW: ‘It Follows’ is the best American horror film in a decade

In this image released by Brigade Marketing, actress Maika Monroe appears in a scene of It Follows, directed by David Robert Mitchell. “It Follows,” has been arguably the buzziest American film at Cannes next to Bennett Miller’s wrestling drama “Foxcatcher,” which boasts a far more famous cast and a major premiere at the Palais des Festival.

"It Follows" is a horror movie worthy of classic comparisons.
